Who is Lei?

Lei is a third year PhD student in chemistry at the University of Nottingham, he has been working on developing the solution for targeted in vivo delivery of drugs and imaging agents, using customized delivery to achieve better therapeutic effect at specific sites such as tumours.

 

Born and raised in the Northern part of China in Shaanxi, Lei has finished his degree in Biology and MSc in Biochemistry, then he has moved to UK to pursue his PhD, he has been awarded scholarship to stay in UK to complete his PhD.

 

Apart from the academic angle, he is passionate about the business side of research, communicating research to public, sports and music. He has been the 1st prize winner for the Sustainability Yes competition, and is currently a member of the University’s Enterprise Lab. He has presented talks in two international conferences, and has done a poster presentation at the University’s research showcase. He does volunteering work for primary school pupils serving both in mentoring and academic support roles. Lei is also a member of student union squash club.
